MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Complete the Membership Application.

2. Contact two references and ask them to send a letter to the SAMLA Board of Directors recommending you or your corporation for membership. References must be active members of SAMLA, in good standing. Reference letters should be faxed or mailed to the Executive Secretary:

3. Send your membership dues, payable to SAMLA, to Laura Kruszewski, Executive Secretary, at the above address.

4. Upon receipt of your completed application, payment of dues, and two letters of reference, your application will be presented to the Board of Directors for review and approval.

5. Membership is effective upon Board approval.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

Regular Member (Annual Dues $250.00)

Regular Members are those corporations that are located in and doing business in Arizona and are either:

  1. Primarily in the business of originating first lien mortgage loans; or

  2. A financial institution or enterprise as defined in Title 6, Chapter 1, Article 1 Arizona Revised Statutes which invests in first lien mortgage loans; or

  3. Primarily engaged in the business of servicing first lien mortgage loans.

Affiliate Member I (Annual Dues $250.00)

Affiliate Members I shall include private mortgage insurance companies, credit bureaus, credit unions, appraisers, pension funds, investment trusts, investment brokers, and similar institution-type organizations, active in the mortgage business, including the management companies and investment counselors for such organizations, or in the provision of services or products for business organizations or finanacial institution eligible to be Regular Members.

Affiliate Member II (Annual Dues $125.00)

Affiliate Members II is available to an individual that is engaged in a mortgage-related business. This type of membership would include businesses as listed in Regular Members and Affiliate Members I; however, this would apply to one-person type operations such as an insurance agent, appraiser, investment broker, etc. The reduced membership dues will apply to those affiliate individuals who pay the fee from their personal funds with NO reimbursement from their parent company or franchise. This membership will be for that specific individual only.
